What do we do during the consultation session?
Being detailed in every examination and explanation will help alleviate any potential doubts you may have. During your first visit, we will allocate ample time to listen to your concerns and address your expectations.
We examine tooth by tooth in detail. Photographs of your teeth and gums are taken with the intra-oral camera to help you understand your oral condition. We utilise advanced diagnostic equipment to uncover dental issues that may not be visible to the naked eye.
At times, we may take X-rays of your teeth to ensure that there are no hidden dental issues. After the examination, our doctor will share the clinical findings with you and discuss your treatment options, the time required, and the treatment fees involved, taking into consideration your needs and priorities.

This advanced system captures highly detailed, full-colour 3D scans in seconds; completely eliminating the need for uncomfortable traditional impressions.
We can track the smallest changes across visits, identifying issues earlier, explaining your oral health visually, and tailoring treatment plans with greater accuracy.
We can provide continuous care and monitor your dental health by scanning during your regular dental visits with us; by detecting early signs of tooth wear, cracks, plaque accumulation, and gum recession over time.
Safety is our Priority
We understand the importance of safety and hygiene; therefore, we prioritise them. We make sure that we adhere to the high standards of sterilisation.
X-ray with digital sensor
The traditional X-ray film requires much higher radiation exposure. Not only that, but there is also a higher tendency for either under- or overexposure of the films, resulting in inconsistent film quality. We offered X-rays taken with a digital sensor. This not only speeds up the X-ray taking process, but it also reduces exposure to radiation by more than 90%.
Use of Rubber Dam during procedures
The rubber dam acts as a physical barrier by isolating the operative area that the dentist is working on from the rest of the patient’s mouth. This helps protect the tongue, throat, and airway during dental procedures, preventing patients from ingesting foreign substances.
The rubber dam also creates a clean and dry operating area. Our patient’s lips, cheeks, and tongue are being retracted and protected, allowing for treatment of the tooth without contamination from blood or saliva.
The rubber dam is placed over a patient’s mouth, with a small clamp attached to the tooth alongside the edge of the gums, exposing only the tooth being worked on.
One or more holes may be created to allow our dentist to work on multiple teeth simultaneously. For instance, we can work on multiple dental fillings by isolating a few teeth. This rubber dam is stretched and held in position with a U-shaped metal or plastic frame.
Sterilization of Instruments
In the healthcare industry, the sterilization process is the utmost guardian of the success of any treatments. In Smile Design Dental Practice, we place a high emphasis on our entire sterilization process and infection control. The sterilization process consists of rinsing the used instruments and soaking them in medical-grade cleaning solution before proceeding to a round of thorough scrubbing and cleaning. These instruments are cleaned, dried, and then placed into individual sterilisation pouches, which are sent into the autoclave to begin the high-temperature sterilisation process.
Through our stringent and meticulous system, we ensure the sterilization process is carried out in the proper regime, to the highest level of sanitation, for your peace of mind.
All queries and concerns will be addressed during the session, and you will receive a written treatment plan that reflects your dental conditions and our discussion at the end of the session.
At Smile Design Dental Practice, we strive to deliver high-quality dental solutions to our patients. We will only begin treatment when you agree with our treatment plan and the fees, which are clearly stated.

Registration
We value your time. Your first appointment will last approximately 40 to 60 minutes. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the appointment for registration, allowing the doctor sufficient time to attend to you on schedule.
While we process your registration, you may enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, and snacks at our snack bar.
Please remember to bring along the following documents:
- Identity Card / Birth Certificate / Passport / Work Permit / Driving License (Mandatory)
- Latest dental records taken no more than 12 months (X-rays / photographs / CT scan) if available
- A list of medications you are currently taking
- Indication of any allergies
- CHAS / PG cards or Personal or Dental Insurance cards (if applicable)

Our clinic operates strictly by appointment to ensure that you receive our full attention and care. We reserve and protect this time to allow our doctor to conduct a thorough examination and provide comprehensive treatments.
As we prepare and dedicate this time specifically for your appointment, we kindly request that you arrive punctually or inform us in advance if you are unable to attend.
This consideration allows us to accommodate other clients who may require urgent dental care.
We sincerely appreciate your cooperation and understanding in helping us maintain a high standard of service for all our clients.
Booking Deposit - Appointments with Specialists or Long Appointments (90 minutes or longer)
We will collect a deposit of $200 for appointments with specialists or long appointments (90 minutes or longer) for complex treatments. This deposit will come from a portion of your treatment fee.
Terms & Conditions
- For rescheduling appointments at least 48 hours prior to your appointment, we will carry forward the deposit to the next scheduled appointment.
- For canceling appointments at least 48 hours prior to your appointment, we will refund you the deposit.
- Your deposit will not be refunded if you reschedule or cancel less than 48 hours prior to your appointment.
- For patients with cashless arrangement with the dental insurance, your deposit will be refunded after you have completed the treatment.
Modes of Payment
We accept Cash, NETS, VISA, MasterCard, Amex, UnionPay, GrabPay, PayNow and immediate interbank transfers (for overseas patients).
Getting to Our Clinic
We are located visibly at the cross junction of Bukit Timah Road/Dunearn Road and Adam Road/Farrer Road. Our location is conveniently accessible by public transport. With the MRT interchange station of the Downtown Line and Circle Line (Botanic Gardens), we are just a few minutes walk away.
Our clinic is wheelchair friendly. We can be accessed via a lift beside McDonald's.
