Why is it important to maintain hygiene and sterilization standards?

Your safety is our priority
We believe in treating you the same as how we wanted our loved ones to be treated. We think for you. As so, we make sure that the dental instruments we use are well maintained, and clean with the highest level of sanitization.
Instruments in individual pouches
In Smile Design Dental Practice, we demand and maintain our standards of hygiene and sterilization with your well-being as our top concern. We believe that your safety is our priority. After the stringent cleaning process, we pouch every single instrument before sending it into the autoclave for high temperature and pressure for sterilization.
Why is putting these instruments in the individual sterilization pouch so important?
The sterilization pouch is a medical-grade pouch where it can undergo a high temperature and pressure of sterilization to maintain the dental instruments inside sterilized.
We only open these sterilized instruments upon usage. This is not limited to our dental surgical instruments but all the instruments we used on your treatments.
New and Personalised root canal treatment (Endodontic) Instruments
Root canal treatment is a very delicate process where tiny root canal treatment instruments (endodontic files) are inserted to the root canals to clean and remove the nerves and pulp tissue.
We use NEW endodontic instruments for every root canal treatment case. All the endodontic files used on every patient, after cleaning and pouching, we write your name on the pouch before sending into the autoclave. For cases that require multiple visits, we retrieve the pack of endodontic files with your name on it for subsequent visits.
These endodontic instruments are very fine, we take extra precaution and care to clean them.
First, they receive a soaking bath in the medical-grade cleaning solution just like the rest of our dental instruments. Subsequently, we give them a good scrub before rinsing off with water.
Next, we put them into the ultrasonic cleaner for another round of (vibrating) bath. The ultrasonic cleaner produces vibrations that help to shake off any remaining debris attached to these fine and delicate endodontic files, making sure that we clean them well.
After we dry these endodontic files, we pouch them, with the indication of your name at the pouch before sending them for sterilization.
The endodontic files are all new and personalized. We named them because they are yours and they are for your personal use only. We eliminate the possibility of any cross-contamination by insisting to only use new endodontic files for every one of you.
With your safety as our priority, you will have a peace of mind to embark on your dental journey with us.

In recent years, lemon water has gone from a simple household drink to a global health trend. Wellness experts, celebrities, and fitness enthusiasts often recommend starting the day with a warm glass of lemon water. Many believe it boosts immunity, improves skin, aids digestion, and helps with weight loss. But how much of this is true, and how much is just hype? Let’s look deeper into the science behind lemon water and whether it’s as good for you as it seems.

Have you ever bitten down on food and suddenly felt a sharp, stabbing pain in one of your teeth? This uncomfortable sensation can be worrying, but it’s also your body’s way of telling you something isn’t right. Understanding the possible reasons can help you know when to see a dentist and prevent more serious problems.

Your smile is one of the first things people notice about you — but more importantly, it reflects your overall health and wellbeing. A dental checkup is not just about keeping your smile looking good—it’s essential to maintaining your overall health and well-being. Here’s why you shouldn’t skip your regular dental appointments.

Most people expect dental problems to improve after treatment. A filling, a crown, a root canal — these are meant to solve the issue and relieve discomfort. But sometimes, a dental problem lingers despite repeated visits to the dentist. If you are stuck with persistent pain, sensitivity, or discomfort that never seems to resolve, you are not alone, and you do have options.

Facing a recommendation for complex dental treatment—such as root canal therapy, dental implants, orthodontics, or full-mouth rehabilitation—can be overwhelming. These procedures often involve significant costs, time, and long-term impact on your oral health. It is natural to feel uncertain or even skeptical. In such situations, seeking a second opinion is a wise and responsible decision.

Everyone notices a great smile. It radiates confidence, leaves a lasting impression, and can even change how you feel about yourself. The best part? You don’t have to be a celebrity to achieve one.
